I am very excited about the coming spring/summer. This season I will be focusing on carving spoons and making greenwood stools. I started teaching some carving techniques this winter and hope to continue through the coming year. It is essential that these skills are passed on and not forgotten.

I picked up a book that has been most helpful in taking my carving to the next stage. “Swedish Carving Techniques” by Willie Sundqvist is a gem of knowledge and I would highly recommend this it anyone who wants to improve their knife work.

There are some maple and birch spoons in the works as well as the first of the greenwood stools. A very large maple tree was uprooted so I have my work cut out for me.

About Anthony Wilder

I am an artisan woodworker from Grand Rapids, MI. Woodworking is my passion and I do all my work with hand tools. We can learn a lot from past methods and mindsets and I am working towards teaching the lost art of working wood.
